Yadira Medina Torres has been passionately immersed in the field of speech language pathology for the past 16 years.  Ms. Torres obtained her Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University, an Honors BA in Communication Disorders with a minor in Psychology at Our Lady of the Lake University.  As a McNair Scholar she has assisted in research.  She has presented numerous seminars and workshops both nationally and internationally.

Yadira decided to focus her private practice in the area of Dysphagia due to her personal interest after the birth of her son who was born with a Bilateral Complete Cleft Lip and Palate.  Her field of interest has led her to present numerous workshops in various areas of interest.  She is a member of American Speech-Language Hearing Association, Texas Speech and Hearing Association, San Antonio Speech, Hearing and Language Association and is certified in Vital Stim.  She is an affiliate of Special Interest Division 13 Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders.  She is also a consultant for various Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinics. 

Prior to establishing her own practice, Yadira worked for the school system serving all grade levels, hospitals and has worked in a number of other acute care, rehabilitation and long-term care settings. 

Currently, her new foundation is providing third world countries like Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Haiti with needed supplies to aid in providing standard care and presenting workshops and seminars in the area of feeding and swallowing in pediatric hospitals and acute care settings.
